Filter Integrity Ltd., UK sales partners of Palas GmbH, are pleased to offer the new PMFT 1000 F Protective Mask Filter Test System to extend their already extensive respiratory filter testing product range.
The PMFT 1000 F is set to become the ‘swiss pocket knife’ of respiratory filter testers, allowing particulate efficiency and flow resistance to be evaluated for a wide range of products including:
- Respiratory Filter Medias
- Face Coverings
- Face Masks
- Modular Mask systems
- Respiratory Filter Cartridges
The system allows testing to pre-programmed methods which can be aligned to report required data as identified in various worldwide regulatory requirements including EN143, EN149, 42CFR84.
In addition users can develop their own methods for automating their testing and performance validation in Research and Development or Quality Assurance applications.
Using cutting edge particle sizing and counting technology combined with state of the art aerosol generator and sample conditioning equipment, the PMFT 1000 F extends the data available to users to include performance identification at specific particle sizes and concentrations, in addition to the total photometric measurement of total mass efficiencies at standard concentrations as identified by current protocols.
Aerosol challenge materials including Paraffin Oil, DEHS, Salt, and Latex Bead, with and without charge neutralisation, can all be covered in the one instrument.
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the potential need to test protective equipment at defined particle sizes, rather than rely on broad total mass based methodologies. The PMFT 1000 F allows developers to validate protection levels over wide range of face velocities and specific respirable particle sizes down to 145nm for a range of filter formats.
