The MAG 3000 is the result of more than 25 years of development of monodisperse aerosol generators. The basics of the original Sinclair-LaMer generator are retained but the entire accumulated knowledge in this field is now updated in the MAG 3000 and provides particular advantages to the user.

The generator consists of a special core source to generate the condensationg cores at approx. 85nm, a vaporizer for evaporating the particle forming material, a reheater and a condensation flue in which the particle material condenses at the condensation core. The new design has the following benefits compared with traditional Sinclair-LaMer systems:

  • no drying system is required for the drying of condensation cores i.e. silica gel is not required.
  • a new core source bypass technology means that a change to larger particles can be generated in approx 10 secs.
  • only one volumetric flowmeter is now required.
  • the electrical supply can be physically separated from the particle generation area giving improved safety.
